Tai Chi at the Weatherley CentreIt was my first time in the carnival parade through Biggleswade – but I must say I was impressed at the number of people who turned out. I was please to join – since I started classes at The Weatherley Centre they invited their classes to join the activity train so there were health classes and dance classes and martial arts including Tai Chi. The weather was great and response was brilliant – I nearly ran out of leaflets in the first half hour! It would be great to welcome new people to our classes on Wednesdays at 2.00pm – there is no need to book – classes are drop in sessions each week and cost just £10 Dress code is loose clothing with flat soled trainers.

The Biggleswade parade

tai-chi-beginners-classOur classes at the Weatherley Centre are developing with the interests of the students – who are generally concerned with health benefits but have recently shown an extension into how the body works and the benefits of Tai Chi for activities in daily life.

We have even covered a small amount of the martial approach – pleasant surprise was expressed to see how this could be achieved without depending on strength.

Tai Chi is a low energy and relaxing activity – as one student put it “I go out of here feeling really relaxed”.  Please see here for details of drop-in classes each Wednesday.

I am delighted to confirm that dates for classes have been confirmed at the Swiss Garden as follows:

THU JUNE 22ND 2023,

THU JULY 27TH 2023 &

THU SEPTEMBER 21ST 2023

Please see www.shuttleworth.org/product/tai-chi/ for details and to book your place.

The garden should look wonderful as it all comes into bloom – so long as the weather holds! So sunblock and raincoats – but actually we have a covered space if we need. Plus – we are getting used to being joined by the peacocks providing a side attraction as they stroll about the lawn.
